Romania removes theory of evolution from school curriculum
Romaniaâs withdrawal of the theory of evolution from the school curriculum could be evidence of a growing conservative tendency in teaching.
Evolution has been removed from the schools curriculum in a move, which pressure groups argue distorts childrenâs understanding of how the world came into being.
Meanwhile, religious studies classes continue to tell Romanian children that God made the world in seven days.
The theory of the Origin of Species and the evolution of humans is no longer present in the compulsory curriculum, through a nationwide decision made under the previous Government in 2006. (Full story)
Normally, this wouldn't bother me; however, here in America, we've got a whole heap of Bible-thumping loonies also trying to effectively end science in our educational curricula. Look at the Creation Museum. The so-called "science" being pumped into people's heads in that chamber of horrors states that the world is only 6,000 years old and that humans coexisted peacefully with domesticated dinosaurs.
Yep. They want to replace sound scientific study and learning with something built upon Flintstones' cartoons. Just replace the names Fred and Wilma with Adam and Eve.
Texas, for example, is especially screwed in much the same way Romania is. They've got a school board with a majority of the god-soaked retards captained by a freakin' dentist, who feel they know more about science than, say, actual scientists.
