Ya know? I used to like John McCain. He seemed like a pretty decent guy, and I think he has some good intentions as far as his politics go. However, when George Bush gives you a nickname, I'm thinking your career is headed for the crapper, and you shouldn't be surprised to find yourself rendered utterly incompetent like Michael "Brownie" Brown, or, in some cases, headed for prison like George's good buddy Ken "Kenny Boy" Lay.
During private moments in joint appearances — at the White House, at campaignlike events pressing for immigration reform and on Air Force One — the two even chat about baseball and golf."He calls me Johnny Mac," Mr. McCain said.
It breaks my heart to see a hero of the Viet Nam War get sucked into that swirling votex of blissful, man-child, stupidy that is the Wonderful World of Dubya and his band of merry morons.
We hardly knew ya, Johnny Mac. I'm sure it's going to sting somewhat for us all to watch whatever shred of human decency and rational thought you once possessed get sucked into the political plumbing beneath the White House and purged into the Potomac like yesterday's breakfast.
There was so much raw truth to what you have written. When our heroes of valor and courage fall prey to the "Bushie Boys Bandits" and their ways, it is as if we are being sabatoged by the VietNam tragedy all all over again. This time, I fear we won"t have the luxury of time to learn from our mistakes.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it astonishing the indignities some will suffer to gain power?
ReplyDeleteSo true Dan, so true.
ReplyDeleteHmm? I wonder what Dubya would call me . . . . .

You said bad things about Kenny Boy and then HE DIED. I hope the guilt doesn't cause you to do something rash. Or break out in a rash.
