Right now, instead of watching House, I'm actually getting kind of fired up watching CSPAN's broadcast of Dennis Kucinich unloading his 35 articles of impeachment against President Bush.
Now, I know a lot of folks will say that it's far too late in this dreadful administration; however, one of the real perks of impeachment is that, if I recall correctly, the president loses his ability to pardon whomever he pleases, and this could do a lot in terms of accountability.
It's actually a largely fascinating thing to watch, and it's a shame that the major news outlets are refusing to show you what could, conceivably, be a very important event in our nation's history.

WHY are Americans so stuck with the idea that DK has nothing to contribute? If we had listened to him more closely, just think of how many murky mudholes could have been avoided. Are we really so shallow as to judge the size of a person's intelligence by his physical height?
ReplyDeleteI don't know. Americans can be embarrassingly petty, shallow and superficial. Just look at the news. As of writing this (12:44 am), none of the major media outlet websites have Kucinich's motion detailed anywhere.
ReplyDeleteThe same damn thing happened the other day with the Senate Intelligence report that explained how Bush lied us into war.
Apparently, they were just too damn busy prattling on about vapid nonsense while pretending to be real journalists.
So, tomorrow morning, we will probably wake up to the news that some random celebrity has been popped for drunk driving or skipping out on a bill at Denny's, and nothing of what Kucinich said will be given much attention.
Thanks for giving credit where credit is due.
ReplyDeleteHope you are OK. Your floods sound much worse than our F-2 tornado!
I did not notice this in today's paper.......... doesn't mean it's not in there. I remember that the front page has an article about recalling tomatos and that it's saying we have another code red day today (albeit the supposedly more current radio stations say it's more likely to be a code orange day today).
ReplyDeletehmmm.
Interesting, and thanks for listing the 35 in your next entry. One of them, the posse of something one, I need to look up and see just what that is!
