[The Wisdom of a Distracted Mind] Awwwww.....

I'll admit it. This gave me a little sniffle:
Orphaned hedgehogs adopt cleaning brush as their mother
Last updated at 14:22pm on 27th August 2007

Four tiny orpahned hedgehogs are snuggling up to the bristles of a cleaning brush - because they think it's their mother.

The four inch long creatures are being hand-reared by staff at the New Forest Otter, Owl and Wildlife Park in Ashurst, Hants.

Workers say Mary, Mungo, Midge and Slappy get comfort from playing with the centre's cleaning brush and enjoy rubbing against it. Link to Full Story

Hedgehogs have always been my favorite little critter, and I wish we had them here in Wisconsin. I had three or four of the little guys when I was in Germany that would run up to the back door every now and then. Eventually, the hedgehogs and I became pretty good friends, and they'd even let me pick them up, but usually they just sort of hovered around my ankles.

It's a nice, cute, bittersweet tale which I hope you enjoy.
