Meanwhile...

Originally posted on The Wisdom of a Distracted Mind.

I just realized something.

I started writing in this Blogger blog in earnest two weeks ago on July 23rd, and in those two weeks, I've written almost fifty posts.

Fifty!?!

My God! I need to get a life.

Nonetheless, I do hope you've all enjoyed the first two weeks as much
as I have. I know I irked some readers with my religious and political
ranting (which I expect to stop), and I also know I lost a whole heap
of readers who didn't wish to make the leap with me from my AOL Journal
to here.

That's unfortunate.

Anyway, the
number of posts here will be tanking somewhat. Hopefully, that means
the quality of what I write will go up as the quantity of pointless,
inane chatter goes down. The thing is, I've got a book to write and
another I've desperately got to convince myself is worthy of selling. I
don't know why that's such a torture for me, but it is. I think writing
a book is perhaps the easiest thing in the world. And, when I'm writing
it, it seems like I'm writing the best damn thing ever written.
However, when it comes to tossing it out there for the general public
to digest, all those illusions I've maintained of my writing abilities
during the book's (or story's) creation go flying out the window faster
than a handful of crystal meth when the S.W.A.T. team comes knocking.

To
put it simply, I'm at a new square one, and I'm stark naked with only a
collection of wordy little pages to cover myself as I hope like hell my
story doesn't have any embarrassing holes in it.

Oh well... Bring on the gray hairs.

  1. So -- you get editors whom you can trust.  :)  Do you really wish to please the masses, or an eclectic group?

BTW, I do visit your other blog, but my daggone computer hasn't let me sign up for alerts on it.  I'll give it another go..........

  3. LOL, you have such a quirky way with words, it holds an audience.  I don't think you're going to have any trouble at all.  I have a friend whom has written the most beautiful poetry to his wife, and also dark fantasy.  He made the leap and got published.  I am so proud of him for having that courage to put himself out there, but he didn't seem to think twice about it.  Go for it!  What's the worst they can say "no thanks?"  But to sit and never know, when it could be "let's get you published" would almost be a crime.......Good luck to you!

  4. Got the same problem as the reply # 1.
. With your new blog is there any way we can receive an alert when a new message is posted. I haven't been able to find out how to do this as yet.
    Can any one help? Bill
